Connect 2019 is an international event organized to bring together a high-level and unique regional network of practitioners, policymakers, NGOs, media representatives, and international donors, with the aim of achieving real and lasting impact on the most pressing issues facing civil society and the cultural sector. The international conference is a four-day event, followed by an intensive program of workshops, trainings, study visits, and the development of follow-up projects.

WHO IS IT FOR?

– Young people who wish to work in an international and interdisciplinary environment and who have relevant experience in one or more art forms
– Art students and students who aspire to become teachers or who have recently graduated from art studies
– Organizations working with youth/children in the field of arts
– Network organizations and policymakers
– Interested individuals and artists

WHAT?

Four days to:

– Experience inspiring performances and art created by young people themselves
– Participate in an inspiring conference and share knowledge and experiences
– Meet and connect with like-minded people and youth from across Europe
– Get acquainted with civil society and the cultural sector in Estonia
– Get to know each other, find potential partners, and co-design a project proposal for an AMATEO grant worth €2,500

WHY?

Four days in good company, discussing and co-creating together with young people. CONNECT is a platform where everyone can share their experiences, find one another, and start international adventures together. AMATEO’s goal is to provide an environment for inspiring cross-border and interdisciplinary art projects.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Participation fee for the conference and the CONNECT program:
€80 for experts / organizations

WHAT DO YOU GET?

The participation fee covers the following: accommodation for international participants in shared hotel rooms (3 nights in Narva, 1 night in Tallinn), catering throughout the official program, materials, access to the conference and performances, local transportation Tallinn–Narva–Tallinn, and the CONNECT program.

During the event, participants will listen to inspiring keynote speakers, share knowledge, and gain new experiences by meeting colleagues from various governmental and non-governmental organizations. In addition, young people from across Europe will become acquainted with local culture and civil society through youth-created cultural events. This is a fantastic opportunity to get to know each other, find potential partners, and co-design small joint projects supported by the AMATEO cultural network, while also expanding the network with new members from Estonia and other Baltic countries.
